Abstract

Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is an endocrine disorder that affects 4-20 % of women of reproductive age worldwide. It is characterized by irregular menstrual periods, excess androgen production, and polycystic ovaries. In some women, it can lead to insulin resistance (IR) and ovulation disorders. In recent years, a potential link has been described between IR, excess androgens, and vitamin D deficiency in women with PCOS. Therefore, understanding this relationship is of great importance to prevent the progression of PCOS and reduce symptoms.
