Cognitive decline is a natural phenomenon associated with aging. However, this process has a greater impact on older adults, a group that represents an increasingly large proportion of the population. Therefore, it is essential to recognize that, although cognitive decline is inevitable, there are preventive strategies that can help mitigate its effects. Regular engagement in activities that stimulate and activate cognitive functions, along with the adoption of healthy habits -such as maintaining an active social life, following a balanced diet, and engaging in physical exercise- can help buffer cognitive deterioration by strengthening cognitive reserve, thus promoting healthier and more functional aging.
