Abstract

Landscape elements and resources are the basis for human survival and development. Landscape degradation is a process that occurs at multiple scales (global, regional, and local), because of human decisions and actions in the territory. Its analysis, both in time and space, is essential to identify priority sites for restoration and conservation. Reducing landscape degradation is necessary to solve global environmental priority problems such as food security, water security, and biodiversity loss due to climate change.
