Can you imagine creating artificial living beings? While no living being exists entirely created by humans, there are some organisms whose genetic material was designed by this living being classified as Homo sapiens, a product of biological evolution. In this article, we discuss the advances in this branch of biology that seeks to create biological systems that do not exist in nature, and whose discoveries we cannot predict the impact of on life itself.
