Abstract

Amidst the global health crisis unleashed by the SARS-CoV-2 virus in 2019, the drastic reduction in carbon dioxide emissions offered a fleeting glimpse of a world with clear skies and revitalized nature. This ephemeral phenomenon underscored the urgency of adopting measures to address climate change and foster a more sustainable future. In this context, the article explores the crucial role of renewable energies, particularly wind energy, in the transition towards a cleaner and more efficient energy model. It examines the importance of wind prediction in the successful integration of wind energy into the electrical grid, highlighting the key role of advanced models such as the Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF). Through a detailed exploration of the science behind wind prediction and the challenges associated with the implementation of atmospheric numerical models, the article offers a comprehensive insight into how technological innovation and environmental awareness intertwine to forge a more sustainable energy future. It concludes with a reflection on the importance of continuing to advance research and development in wind prediction models to mitigate climate change and promote a healthier and more equitable environment for future generations.
