Frankenstein is not a character exclusive to the narrative, but a living element that has evolved and adapted to various geographies and social contexts. The work of Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley has endured the passage of time, establishing itself as a predominant symbol of popular culture. In this article we analyze the influence of the Frankenstein monster figure on people’s attitudes towards technology and science, particularly Artificial Intelligence (AI) and robots; as well as the fears about the misuse of science and the breaking down of traditional moral boundaries. Our goal is to encourage the reader to approach Mary Shelly’s work and develop a more critical perspective towards Artificial Intelligence and the creation of Intelligence Robots.
